Tony attended Walsall Art School and then studied print at Byam Shaw. He trained as a potter in the pottery village of La Bourne before returning to Britain and becoming Whichford Potteries big ware thrower . He owns a small farm on the Welsh Marches where he has built his own pottery. He makes ash glazed stone ware and large terracotta garden pots. In 2014 Tony won the Society of Portrait Sculptors prize at the Sladmore Gallery for his portrait of his daughter Kate.
